General Media Policy

League members must direct any journalists (including TV and print reporters, internet bloggers, etc.) requiring information, interviews, photographs, or admittance to practice or bouts to the League President, Vice President, or PR/Media Chair.

No league member should speak to media personnel until they have read and signed the Stick Out Your Tickets and Cover Your Ass: WFTDA Media Guidelines for Today’s Rollergirl and should bear in mind the sort of conduct described therein.

The PR/Media Chair will also provide TBDD media policy including how to deal with media and appropriate information to provide.

Signs must be displayed at all bouts to direct media to check in with a bout media liaison. The liaison will collect information from press personnel, including contact name, phone number or email address, publication, and possible publication date. Liaison must allocate media credentials and access guidelines. Media may include show producers, reporters, photographers, bloggers, and web hosts. It is up to the discretion of the liaison to give media credentials

Bout Access Guidelines

All press must check in with media liaison for every bout and obtain media credentials to be able to cover the event.

All interview requests need to go thru the media liaison. Half-time interviews will be granted by request at the discretion of willing skaters.

Photographers may not shoot from inside of the track. Only TBDD staff can be inside the track to shoot.  If photographers are shooting near the track then they need to be cautious of players, referees and other NSO. Additionally, in between jams, the side of the track nearest the players’ boxes should remain free of photographers to allow free access to the track for the skaters

See diagram for appropriate areas from which to photograph.
