HELP TRD SPREAD the WORD!!

WHAT: Tampa Skater Recruitment Bootcamp
WHEN: Saturday, January 19th, 2013
WHERE: USA Skateplex 5313 E. Busch Blvd Tampa, FL 33617
TIME(S): be there before 9 to get gear, fill out paperwork, etc; everyone needs to be ready and on the floor at 9 sharp

The purpose of this bootcamp is to give potential recruits an opportunity to work with TRD's veteran skaters and review the minimum skills that will be expected of them if they're interested in making/joining TRD league come the next recruitment for the 2013 Season. This will give the recruits about a month to practice and prepare for initial evaluations taking place at tryouts.

**Note: This is not a bootcamp for current TRD league level skaters. Only open to interested and potential recruits for the next QK class**

**There will be $10 fee per skater to participate.

We will have loaner pads if you can't get some by then. Bring a bottle of water and some sneakers too. :) See you Saturday!

The bootcamp will be organized like so:
Skaters check in and pay, fill out all paperwork or check to make sure we have their paperwork.
Once check in, skaters can then gear up. A skater will be there durring gear up to answer questions about gear and make sure the skaters put it on correctly.
After all skaters have gear on, we will run a warm up that is similar to our old ones, performing the skills that will be covered in the bootcamp as a kind of preview.
We will then have vets break into groups to teach 1 skill per group. This is to ensure plenty of one on one time and ample understanding of the skill taught.
We will break groups at 5 minutes till the end time and answer questions while gearing down.

Skaters, if you're interested in helping facilitate the bootcamp (teaching skills, reaching out to potential new skaters) please post here. The bootcamp is like a first impression to potential new skaters (PNS) and it's important to not only show up, but be enthusiastic and willing to help.

We also need any spare gear that you can donate - we can mark it with tape and ensure that it returns to you. If you have anything to donate - AWESOME! We can always use new gear for the loaner bag!

You know all those friends of yours who have been saying "Oh my gosh, derby sounds so awesome, but I could never do that." BRING EM!!! Prove them wrong and show them just how awesome and supportive our little TRD derby community is!

I already put a few pads donated from Klymaxxx in the closet but I couldn't find the other ones so they are loose.

potential recruits in need of skates MUST email me - stellaknockout@gmail.com - and let me know their shoe size; without an email from them, we won't know they need skates, so we won't have skates for them to borrow!

The training committee is asking that only Level 3-5 skaters help with the skating portion of the bootcamp. However, other skaters and volunteers can still help by assisting the new recruits with gear, questions, paperwork, etc.
