The double header event Mean Legs and Jams served up a heaping plate of action for Tampa derby fans. The first bout featured the Tampa Bay Derby Darlins’ own Switchblade Sisters versus the fledgling Gainesville Roller Rebels, and the second bout offered the second season bout, with the Black Widows taking on last season’s champion: the Cigar City Mafia. This event offered something for fans who liked record-setting scoring runs, and something for those who like dramatic neck-and-neck match-ups that are up in the air until the final seconds. Slam-Wow!

They're back. They're finally back. The league teams of the Tampa Bay Derby Darlins are in their colors again to duke it out, sister against sister. The May 16 event Slam-Wow! brought TBDD's badly-missed in-league play back to the Skateplex. It was a double-header: in the first bout, Tampa's own Switchblade Sisters accepted a challenge from Jacksonville's Duval Derby Dames. The second bout pitted the two-time TBDD league champion Cigar City MafiaBlack Widows, league champs of 2006 against the recently-returned Black Widows.
